Besides the obvious which is shooting or taking pictures, as a ship photographer, part of the job is to man the Photo Gallery and sell photography-related retail items like cameras and accessories in addition to selling photographs, help set up and break down studios, help set up or shut down the lab, help out in the Photo Lab like printing or cleaning, move stores or stocks, provide assistance to guests… Depending on the ship you’re on and on your competence, you may also be given the task of conducting digital camera seminars. It’s not scary. I actually enjoying doing seminars.
As a crew member, it is required to attend every mandatory training and drill, and to assist during certain emergencies. In emergency situations, different crew members will have different roles to perform. That is also part of the job, regardless of your department or position onboard.
